Unique 5mm, 9mm and 12mm Parallel Twin-Screw Extruders

Unique, modular extruders manufactured range from the smallest twin parallel-screw extruder in the world to 50 mm in diameter. All are constructed to meet cGMP standards and are available in multiple configurations and different L/D ranging from 10:1 to 40:1.  All wetted surfaces are made of stainless steel 1.4404/316L and polished to Ra 0.8

 The units can be fitted with different gear boxes allowing for co-rotating and counter-rotating operation. Concave screws with different pitches are available as well as segmented ones that the user can tailor to the level of desired mixing or shear imposed on the sample. Modular and solid screws are available.

 The barrels are mounted with industry-standard tri-clamp fittings allowing for quick assembly or disassembly without the need to use hand tools. The barrels have the unique advantage to allow for steep temparature gradients and are heated on both top and bottom.  A system can have more than one barrel of different lengths and temperatures can range from sub-ambient up to 420⁰C. Because of the unique barrel construction,  multiple feeding ports including solids, liquids, side-feeding as well as super-critical fluids are possible.

 The systems are mounted onto IP 55 rated enclosures. The systems can have controllers that are in one box, or separated so that you can use it in a glove box application.

Units can be configured with a Siemens PLC color touch screen or a simpler Datalogic control system. The Siemens controller allows for data collection via USB memory stick.  In all cases, the power requirements are: 230 VAC +/- 10% and 60Hz.  In most cases, we can custom design a unit according to your needs.
